Driver/ Service Assistant About ACRE - Real School Lunch Since 2004, ACRE - Real School Lunch has been preparing fresh, scratch-cooked meals for students throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Each day, we serve more than 2,500 meals made with high-quality ingredients and a commitment to sustainability, community, and exceptional hospitality. Our success is measured by the many happy faces we see in the lunchroom every day. Position Overview ACRE is seeking a reliable, responsible, and energetic Driver/Service Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our company, responsible for transporting fresh, scratch-cooked meals from our kitchen to various school sites. Beyond driving, you will play a critical hands-on role in setting up service stations and directly serving students, ensuring that every meal is delivered safely and served with hospitality. This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys interacting with school communities and takes pride in contributing to a positive, healthy lunch environment.

Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30pm during the 10 month school year Primary Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicle to transport meals between the ACRE kitchen and various school locations, ensuring strict adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload food, ensuring that meals arrive on time and in accordance with food safety and quality standards. Assist with the set-up of serving stations at school sites, including displaying food and setting out necessary service materials. Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to students during the lunch period, ensuring a welcoming dining environment. Monitor serving lines throughout the lunch period to ensure they remain well-stocked and clean. Maintain a clean and sanitary vehicle and service environment by following all health and safety guidelines. Act as a professional representative of ACRE when interacting with school staff, faculty, and students. Collaborate with the kitchen team to verify food order accuracy before departure. Qualifications/ Requirements Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record. Minimum 2 years of experience in service, preferably in food and beverage or hospitality industry High school diploma required. Possess or obtain (within 90 days of hire) a Food Safety Certification. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with school communities. Ability to communicate effectively in English with coworkers, supervisors, students, and school staff is required. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy food transport containers (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods during service. Professional demeanor and a strong commitment to hospitality and customer service Previous experience in food service, delivery, or logistics is a plus. Experience operating an Extended Transit van with a tommy lift is helpful. Additional Requirements Because we work in school environments, all employees must successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and any school-specific onboarding requirements.
