As the face of our dining room, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional guest experience, guiding diners through our menu of fresh offerings, and ensuring the smooth operation of a fast-paced service environment. Duties Maintain an immaculate and organized sushi station, ensuring proper sanitation of knives, cutting boards, and display cases. Ensure proper handling, rotating, and storage of raw fish and perishable ingredients to meet stringent food safety and health codes. Monitor food inventory, track waste, and prep or order ingredients to keep the sushi bar continuously stocked. Prepare a wide variety of sushi dishes, including traditional maki , nigiri , and sashimi . Execute precise knife skills and techniques to fillet whole fish, scale, skin, and create clean cuts for service. Cook, season, and properly cool sushi rice to maintain ideal temperature and texture standards. Requirements Proven experience in food service or restaurant environment At least 5 years in the restaurant food industry (Japanese Cuisine a bonus!) Familiarity with POS systems Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety standards in the hospitality industry Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment Dress code of a black pants or jeans, black non slip shoes, solid black shirt
