Job Description

Bottega Napa Valley Bottega Napa Valley is seeking a highly motivated, detail-driven Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about executing exceptional food experiences both on-site and off-site. Position Overview The Banquet Sous Chef will play a key leadership role in the planning, organization, and execution of all banquet and special event culinary operations. This includes overseeing production, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency, and leading off-site events with precision and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute banquet and event culinary operations, both on-site and off-site Maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership on menu execution and event planning Organize and manage prep schedules, production timelines, and event logistics Ensure proper staffing, training, and supervision of the banquet kitchen team Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards Maintain strong communication with front-of-house and events teams Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or banquet environment Proven ability to execute large-scale events with precision and attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Self-motivated with the ability to lead independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and leadership abilities Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and off-site event travel as needed What We're Looking For We are looking for a culinary professional who takes ownership, leads by example, and brings both structure and creativity to the role. Attention to detail is non-negotiable. This position requires a chef who can deliver flawless execution under pressure while maintaining the integrity of Bottega's standards. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and capable of leading banquet production with confidence, consistency, and a strong sense of hospitality.
