Job Description

About the Role We're looking for a Pastry Chef (Retail Production) to join our team. Working within pastry systems developed by visiting French pastry chefs, this role focuses on producing all pastries for our retail store with precision, efficiency, and consistency. Combining French craftsmanship with American creativity — while maintaining high output and quality every day. Key Responsibilities Produce, bake, and finish retail pastries including tarts, mousse cakes, napoleons, dry pastries, and gluten-free selections. Reheat and prepare laminated dough items (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc.) from our La Belle® production vendor each morning. Bake cookies and other dry pastries daily to ensure the pastry case is fully stocked for opening. Prepare supporting components for the cake kitchen such as buttercream, sauces, and fillings. Maintain consistency, volume, and speed while following established French-inspired systems and recipes. Support weekend specials and seasonal items such as millefeuille, flan, cheesecakes, and tarts. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to fulfill on-demand pastry requests during service. Follow SOPs precisely to meet quality, freshness, and food-safety standards. Keep a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional pastry or baking experience preferred. Strong technical skills in pastry preparation and finishing; piping skills a plus. Comfortable managing both traditional and gluten-free pastry production (about 30% GF). Able to work efficiently under structured systems and direction. Reliable, consistent, and detail-oriented with excellent time management. Positive, professional attitude and ability to collaborate with chefs and front-of-house. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Experience with commercial baking equipment and adherence to sanitation standards. Schedule & Compensation Full-time, 5 days per week
