Job Description
- Providing nutritious and locally sourced food seasonally
- Capable of planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the work of employees while ensuring quality and consistency in preparation of all food items and guest relations
- Be able to stay relevant with current as well as up-and-coming cooking trends and best practices
- Develop seasonal & specialty event menus, modify or create new ones (plan, prepare, & execute) while meeting food quality standards
- Create and standardize recipes
- Design food presentation aesthetics
- Required to prepare meals & delegate work to kitchen staff during the restaurants' busy times
- Control labor and operating expenses through budgeting, and purchasing decisions
- Responsible for food orders
- Inventory and production record controls
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Shared responsibility in interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and managing BOH personnel
- Responsible for performance reviews, and taking disciplinary action when necessary
- Oversee cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen
- Understanding of BOH control systems & basic computing software such as Microsoft excel and word
- Capable of working well under pressure situations while keeping a positive attitude
- 55-60 hour work week. Competitive compensation is based on experience and work ethic. Required Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts or related certificate, or proven working experience as Head Chef.
- Serv-Safe certified
- Stable history with previous employment
- Must be dependable, reliable, and motivated with an attention to detail Preferred Qualifications
- Hospitality / Food Service accounting degree, background, or previous experience
