We are currently searching for a Full-Time Chef Assistant as follows:
Position Summary:
The Chef's Assistant supports kitchen administration within a health-focused, food program. Assists with operational efficiency through inventory management, cost control, and scheduling, while also assisting in food preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Operational Duties Maintain kitchen labor schedules aligned with occupancy levels and labor budgets Monitor and maintain par levels for all food, beverage, and kitchen supplies to support consistent service Conduct routine inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies Track and report on food waste Place orders with approved vendors, ensuring product quality aligns with nutrition and brand standards Verify deliveries and invoices for accuracy and quality compliance Maintain detailed and organized records of inventory, purchasing, and usage Culinary Support Assist in Kitchen as needed. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and preparation techniques Assist during service to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality meal delivery Work together with Kitchen staff to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
Required Qualifications & Skills:
2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a health-focused environment Experience with inventory, ordering, and kitchen administration a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or inventory systems preferred Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills Pritikin offers competitive salary and benefits, including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life insurance 401(k) with Company match after 1 year of service PTO 6 Company Holidays Free meals during shift Free use of our exercise facility And more!
