Executive Chef Overview:
Killearn Club is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join the culinary team and support the Executive Chef in all aspects of the Club's culinary operations. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional dining experiences by assisting with daily kitchen operations, food preparation, menu execution, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across all food and beverage outlets. Key Responsibilities:
The Sous Chef will help lead and mentor kitchen staff through training, scheduling, and day-to-day supervision while fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented environment. Working closely with the Executive Chef and club leadership, this individual will support inventory management, cost controls, sanitation standards, and overall kitchen efficiency to ensure smooth and successful operations. Killearn Club will feature three unique food and beverage outlets supported by two kitchens, including a pool snack bar opening in late June 2026 with casual fare, a full-service clubhouse opening in late September 2026, and a traditional turn house offering grab-and-go options. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing club environment focused on culinary excellence, hospitality, and the creation of memorable member experiences. This includes, but is not limited to: Assist in overseeing day-to-day culinary operations across all dining outlets and club food service areas Work hands-on in a progressive kitchen environment, supporting all stations and ensuring consistency in food quality and presentation Teach, train, mentor, and help develop culinary and stewarding staff while promoting a positive and professional kitchen culture Assist the Executive Chef with menu development, recipe execution, and implementation of the Club's culinary vision Support staff scheduling, labor management, and overall kitchen efficiency Perform monthly food inventories and assist with cost control initiatives, product ordering, and waste reduction efforts Ensure all culinary team members consistently follow recipes, plating standards, and preparation procedures Work collaboratively with all Club departments to enhance member satisfaction and overall team success Support food preparation and execution for tournaments, social events, private functions, and Club activities Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout all kitchen and food preparation areas Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and sanitation regulations while promoting safe food handling practices Communicate effectively with Club leadership regarding menu updates, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment while setting a professional example for the culinary team Uphold the Killearn Club's core values through leadership, teamwork, and hospitality-focused service Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Club leadership Required Key Skills and Qualifications:
To thrive in this position, essential skills and qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary program preferred One (1) year of previous restaurant management experience Certification in food safety Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Minimum of 3-5 years of similar food and beverage experience preferred in a private club, hospitality, or upscale dining environment Strong culinary foundation with knowledge of advanced cooking techniques, ingredient preparation, and food presentation standards. Strong à la carte and banquet skills required. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of food, wine, beverage, and hospitality service standards Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service experiences.
