Job Description

  • Job Summary:
  • Sacred Pepper is seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, pasta types, and other sweet goods following traditional and modern recipes. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to creating beautifully presented, flavorful dishes.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Cook and maintain recipes and par levels of pastry and pasta items with diverse methods of preparation.
Adhere to specific product specifications, handling procedures, and plate presentation standards. Ensure proper execution of recipe procedures while maintaining high quality and consistency. Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen and keep food orders flowing smoothly. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, managers, and service staff. Assist in stocking and setting up stations as required. Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Perform all duties in a timely and effective manner to meet company objectives. Embrace and uphold the culture of Sacred Pepper.
  • Accountabilities:
  • The Pastry Chef must perform multiple tasks while maintaining standards in daily restaurant activities to ensure guest satisfaction. Adherence to all food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures is essential, along with compliance with restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of proven experience as a line cook/prep cook in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant.
  • Knowledge and Abilities Required:
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Positive attitude and energy level. Organizational skills to maintain a clean and stocked work area. Physical ability to perform job functions effectively. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical and Work Environment Demands:
  • The position involves standing and walking for extended periods, reaching, handling items of various weights, working in hot and damp environments, and exposure to noise and crowded spaces typical of a restaurant environment.
Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Compensation:
$25+ per hour, depending on experience.
