We are a popular neighborhood place that has been open for more than 10 years. The pay also includes tips which are paid bi-weekly and average around $300-350. You should have a minimum of 3-4 years experience as a sushi chef. Like any sushi chef position, this can be a demanding job at times as you need to prepare dishes for tables, take-out and delivery orders and be able to work quickly when busy. You will be assisted by our sushi robot that produces flat sushi rice sheets over nori. We are open Tuesday-Saturday 5:00 to 10:00. Your shift begins at 12:00 where you will do prep until 5:00 and then after 5:00, work as a sushi chef until close. Chefs usually leave by 10:30. Our restaurant is izakaya-ish. Its somewhat small and operates out of a converted bungalow. The owner is from Japan and her husband is from here. You can call or text the owner about arranging an interview. This is not a training position. Do not contact her unless you are an experienced sushi chef. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring quality and consistency. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to strict food safety guidelines. Utilize knife skills to prepare fish and vegetables. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
