Japanese Specialist -
Kitchen & Sushi Chef Company:
Umi Sushi Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Japanese Specialist to elevate our culinary team with authentic Japanese cuisine expertise. In this dynamic role, you will bring traditional and contemporary Japanese culinary techniques to life, creating exceptional sushi and other Japanese dishes that delight our guests. Key Responsibilities Sushi & Sashimi Mastery:
Prepare and assemble high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence.
Authentic Techniques:
Execute authentic Japanese cooking techniques, including expert knife skills, proper fish handling, and food preparation methods aligned with traditional standards.
Menu Innovation:
Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative dishes that reflect authentic Japanese flavors while catering to customer preferences.
Quality & Safety:
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout all food handling, preparation, and serving processes.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service times, ensuring the timely delivery of orders.
Customer Experience:
Contribute to the overall dining experience by serving dishes with professionalism and a welcoming attitude.
Special Events:
Support catering events or special functions by preparing Japanese cuisine in accordance with event specifications.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Extensive background in Japanese cuisine preparation, including advanced sushi rolling and fish filleting. Proven track record in fine dining or restaurant settings that emphasize quality presentation.
Technical Skills:
Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling techniques specific to seafood and raw ingredients.
Menu Planning:
Ability to plan menus thoughtfully, balancing authenticity with creativity to meet diverse tastes.
Safety Standards:
Excellent understanding of food safety protocols. Background in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus.
Industry Knowledge:
Previous experience in food industry roles involving food service, food preparation, or culinary arts is highly desirable.
Work Ethic:
