Head Pastry Chef As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the pastry department in our high-end restaurant in Atlanta, USA. You will use your expertise and creativity to develop new and innovative pastry dishes and desserts that will delight our customers. Your role will also involve leading a team of pastry chefs, ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop new and creative pastry dishes and desserts that align with our restaurant's concept and standards
  • Create recipes, manage inventory, and ensure all necessary supplies are available
  • Train, mentor, and supervise a team of pastry chefs to maintain consistency in food quality
  • Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to plan menus and coordinate food preparation for events
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area at all times
  • Manage food cost by controlling waste, portion sizes, and inventory levels
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques to continuously improve pastry offerings
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role at a fine dining establishment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
  • Passion for creating unique desserts using traditional techniques with modern twists
  • In-depth knowledge of baking methods, ingredients, equipment, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Creativity in developing new recipes while also adhering to established menu items
  • Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, holidays if needed
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1700 per month. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
