Executive Sous Chef Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center | Coralville, IA Lead culinary excellence at one of Iowa's premier hospitality destinations. The award-winning Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. - Full-time leadership position
- Annual salary starting at $60,000, commensurate with experience
- Salaried, exempt position
- Flexible schedule based on business demands and event volume
- Must be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed What You'll Be Doing As Executive Sous Chef, you will help oversee daily culinary operations throughout the property while supporting kitchen leadership, operational consistency, food quality, and associate development.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in leading banquet, restaurant, stewarding, room service, and kitchen operations
- Supervise, coach, train, and develop culinary associates
- Help maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Support staffing, scheduling, and labor cost management
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards are maintained
- Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and product rotation
- Support execution of weddings, conferences, VIP functions, and large-scale events
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across departments
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef What We're Looking For
- Previous culinary leadership experience in hotels, resorts, banquets, or high-volume food service operations preferred
- 3-5 years of culinary management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen operations
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for hospitality, leadership, and guest experience
- Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred, but not required
