Sous Chef Urbandale Golf & Country Club - 5.0 Urbandale, IA Job Details Full-time From $48,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Pre-cooking preparation Teamwork Fine dining experience Kitchen stations Teaching Full Job Description The primary focus of the Sous Chef position is to co-lead the kitchen by preparing food, co-developing menus, honing leadership skills, and teaching and upholding standards developed alongside the Executive Chef. They will be responsible for the proper function of the day to day operations and the smooth operation of the kitchen while the Executive Chef is away. To achieve these workplace standards the following jobs responsibilities will be expected, but are not limited to:
  • Work alongside the Executive Chef to create a fun and inviting atmosphere for all Club Members, Guests and Employees..
  • Prep and cook on the line, learning and honing skills in every station of the line to be able to assist where needed as well as teach future employees on proper operation and execution of each station.
  • Display and uphold proper handling of food and food preparation
  • Rotation and storage of all food products
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of all work surfaces
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all equipment used in the kitchen
  • Reporting low stocks of inventory
  • Take part in collaboration and development of future menus along with weekly specials to keep our members interested and happy with the food we provide.
Qualifications Proven leadership skills in food service management and kitchen operations Strong background in inventory management and control Experience in food preparation and catering, with a focus on quality Ability to supervise and train staff effectively Knowledge of dietary department practices and fine dining standards
