EAT authentic Italian food at our restaurants, cafés and to-go countersSHOP a selection of high-quality Italian, local and homemade productsLEARN through our classes and our team's product knowledgeJob DescriptionThe Pastry Sous Chef oversees the production of all pastries for an Eataly, including Italian pasticcini, cakes, desserts, cookies, candies, and other dolci. This is an hourly position. Reports directly to the Pastry Chef; manages a pastry team of about 10 employees.

Supervises and participates in the production of all pastry items for Eataly's counters and restaurantsAssists in managing the pastry team: schedules; submits payroll; provides feedback and motivation; trains on Italian pastry production, principles, and practices; coaches and counselsVerifies all foods prepared to meet quality standards in terms of portion size, flavor, texture, and consistencyProduces decorative centerpieces and special ordersOrders and requisitions all supplies for the pastry shopMaintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standardsPerforms other duties as required or assignedQualifications4+ years of experience in a high-volume pastry preparation positionKnowledge of Italian pastries and techniquesExcellent communication and leadership skillsIntermediate computer skillsDegree from a post-secondary culinary/pastry arts training program preferredJob RequirementsAvailability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekendsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattingAbility to use a burning oven, commercial stand mixer and other pastry baking equipmentCompensation for this role is ranged from $60,000 to $65,000Additional InformationBenefits and PerksMedical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Parental Leave401K with match or RRSPBonus programFree family meal dailyDiscounts at EatalyClasses on products and Italian cuisineReferral bonus programand more!
