  • Full-time About us One of the area's premier golf and country club facilities, Country Club of Decatur, is seeking an energized, highly visible and engaged leader to follow in the tradition of exceptional service and a first-class member experience.
The future Executive Chef will be responsible for all food and pastry production, including that sold in restaurants, banquet functions and other outlets. Develop menus, food purchase specifications and recipes. Supervises production and pastry staff. Develop and monitor food and labor budgets for the department. Maintain the highest professional food quality and sanitation standards. Founded in 1899, Country Club of Decatur is a private, member-owned club, providing exceptional family-oriented recreational and social facilities and activities. The Club's sole purpose is to ensure the optimum enjoyment of its members and guests with a goal to be the premier family-oriented club in Decatur, Illinois. While the Club has strong traditions, it is a friendly, forward-looking club and far from traditional. The Club is fortunate to have a knowledgeable and professional senior staff which includes a number of tenured and newer team members, all of whom have a collaborative style and are supportive of one another, sharing the goal of exceeding member expectations. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen and food preparation
  • Create and develop innovative menus and recipes
  • Ensure high-quality food presentation and taste
  • Manage inventory and control food costs
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Experience:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box Please note that bartending experience is not relevant to the role of an Executive Chef.
