Service Summary:
The Production Lead serves as the primary production leader and head cook/chef for the cafeteria while assisting the Cafeteria Manager in coordinating and implementing the daily food service program within the building. This position supports the preparation and service of safe, nutritious, and attractive meals in an efficient, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff. The Production Lead provides daily operational leadership on the cafeteria floor by guiding staff during food preparation and service, serving as the lead cook for daily meal production, supporting workflow, and maintaining high food quality, presentation, and safety standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions such as staffing needs, service demands, or product availability. The Production Lead helps ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining awareness of overall program goals and district expectations.
Responsibilities :
Utilizing commercial kitchen equipment in the preparation and cooking of menu items. Preparing food by washing, cutting, chopping, slicing, mixing and assembling it. Assisting in serving food on the service line. Follow established recipes and food handling procedures to ensure safe and quality food service. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines. Assisting in batch cooking. Assist in the setup and breakdown of lunches, and possibly breakfasts. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including proper storage of food and supplies.
Expectations/Qualifications:
Must be good with children. Neat and clean. Enjoy food preparation. Work well with others. Able to follow directions. Have a positive and cheerful attitude. Must feel comfortable standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be a team player with a positive and upbeat attitude. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to withstand warm or heated temperatures. Must be willing to work an early morning first shift.
Schedule:
8 hours/day Monday-Friday No nights No holidays Follows school calendar
