Join the Morningstar Kitchen Team - Where Your Cooking Makes Smiles! Are you an experienced chef or cook with a passion for creating meals that delight and nourish? At Morningstar Assisted Living & Memory Care , we're looking for a culinary superstar to lead our kitchen and bring joy to every resident's day! Overview As an Experienced Chef/Cook at our assisted living community, you will be the culinary heart of our facility, creating nutritious, flavorful, and comforting meals for our residents. You will prepare and cook meals, and ensure food is served safely and beautifully, all while fostering a welcoming and positive dining experience. This role requires a creative, skilled, and compassionate individual who understands the importance of nutrition and presentation in the lives of seniors. You'll work closely with the care and dining teams to provide meals that not only satisfy appetites but also bring joy and comfort to our residents every day. Responsibilities Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Preparing meals to a high standard and ensuring that every dish is both nutritious and visually appealing for our residents. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and make manager aware as necessary. Complete food & equipment temperature logs. Qualifications Culinary certification or relevant professional training preferred (e.g., diploma or degree in culinary arts) Experience in food preparation and kitchen operations, ideally in a care, healthcare, or hospitality setting Ability to prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals catering to various dietary needs (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, pureed diets) Strong time management and organizational skills Attention to detail in food presentation Ability to work as part of a team and communicateeffectively with kitchen staff and care teams Compassion and understanding of the needs of elderly residents. Flexibility to adapt menus based on resident feedback and seasonal ingredients Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling practices. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. Come join our team of professionals! Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
