General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton, KY offers peaceful country living just minutes from city conveniences. As part of Kentucky State Parks, you'll help care for some of the state's most beautiful natural spaces while building a rewarding culinary career. The Park Chef II is a skilled culinary leader who partners with the Food Operations Manager and Dining Room Supervisor to lead restaurant, kitchen, and catering operations. You will craft scratch-made dishes using fresh ingredients, train and mentor staff, and ensure efficient, high-quality service across all outlets. Why Join Us? This role supports Two Rivers Restaurant, Port William's Lounge, and the General Butler Conference Center, preparing meals for daily service, buffets, banquets, and catered events on and off property. Responsibilities include but are no limited to the following: Plan, train, and supervise kitchen personnel. Ensure food quality and consistency across all products and services. Develop menus and update recipes. Manage inventory, purchasing, and budget reporting. Enforce departmental policies, rules, and safety standards. Skills and Expectations include but are not limited to the following: Analytical thinking. Time management. Teamwork and leadership. Ability to work under pressure. Strong communication skills. EDUCATION
High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
Must have four years of food preparation experience in salads, vegetables, or meats. Two years of the required experience must include management or supervision in a large-scale institutional or commercial full-service restaurant or state resort park food facility. Substitute
