We want to see you cook. About the role We are opening an upscale Chinese restaurant in Boston and are hiring four Wok Chefs — one senior position and three line-level positions. You will be the engine of our kitchen: executing hot dishes at high speed, maintaining consistent quality across every ticket, and working in tight coordination with plating assistants. This is a high-performance, high-heat environment that rewards experienced Chinese kitchen professionals. Responsibilities Execute all hot dishes using professional wok techniques — stir-frying, searing, braising, and sauce work — to recipe and presentation standards Maintain fast, consistent output during high-volume dinner service without sacrificing quality Coordinate in real time with plating assistants (打荷) to keep the pass moving smoothly Keep your station stocked, clean, and organized throughout every shift Follow mise en place discipline — prep, portion, and label all items before service Comply with all Massachusetts food safety and sanitation standards at your station Senior wok chef only: Help set wok station standards, assist in onboarding new wok staff, and serve as the lead wok cook during service Qualifications Required — all positions 1-3+ years of wok cooking experience in a Chinese restaurant kitchen Ability to work independently at the wok station under high heat and high-volume conditions Strong command of Chinese sauces, seasoning, and wok hei technique Massachusetts Food Handler's Card — required before your first shift (we will support you in obtaining one if needed) Physical stamina: ability to stand for full shifts in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment Required — senior position only 3+ years of wok experience, with demonstrated ability to lead a station during service Experience coordinating with kitchen team members and upholding quality standards under pressure Preferred — all positions Experience in an upscale or high-volume Chinese restaurant Familiarity with regional Chinese cuisines and contemporary Chinese cooking styles How to apply Apply through Indeed with your resume.
