Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and specialty items, maintaining high standards of presentation and freshness Follow established recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all offerings Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations Manage inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other ingredients, placing orders as needed to ensure availability Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and deliver exceptional service during busy hours Educate team members on proper sushi techniques and culinary best practices to foster continuous improvement Uphold food safety standards by practicing proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures Skills Extensive culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation Strong knowledge of seafood handling, knife skills, and presentation techniques Ability to develop innovative sushi recipes while adhering to traditional methods Excellent classroom management skills for training junior staff or apprentices in sushi techniques Experience in curriculum development related to culinary arts or specialized cooking classes Proven ability in working with diverse teams in fast-paced kitchen environments Familiarity with health regulations, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards Creativity in plating and presentation to enhance visual appeal of dishes Effective communication skills for instructing team members or conducting demonstrations Passion for teaching or mentoring aspiring chefs in culinary skills or Japanese cuisine Embark on an exciting culinary journey with us!
