Grill Lead - Wood-Fired Chef Our restaurant is seeking a skilled, passionate Grill Lead to take ownership of our custom-built live-fire grill. Using kiln-dried hardwood and charcoal, you will craft exceptional grilled and braised dishes that define our menu. If you excel at managing a high-volume grill station and delivering consistent, high-quality cuisine with precision and passion, we want you on our team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage the grill station, expedite during service, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced, dinner-only environment. Schedule Open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner only Sundays and Mondays off Evening shifts required Key Responsibilities Masterfully braise and grill a variety of premium items including steaks, chops, poultry, vegetables, and signature dishes on our live-fire wood grill Manage the entire grill station with strong leadership, efficiency, and quality control Expedite food and ensure timely, seamless service Prepare and handle ingredients by slicing, cutting, shredding, and tenderizing meats and vegetables Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, flavor, presentation, temperature, freshness, and portion control Communicate effectively with the head chef, line cooks, food runners, and front-of-house team Assist with inventory tracking, labeling, ordering, and communicating supply needs to the executive chef Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and restaurant standards while maintaining required certifications Requirements Proven experience as a grill cook or line cook in a high-volume restaurant (wood-fired/live-fire experience strongly preferred) Deep knowledge of grilling techniques, meat temperatures, braising, and wood-fire cooking Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and teamwork skills Positive attitude and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen High school diploma or GED required; Culinary Arts diploma is a plus Current Food Handler's or Food Safety certification (or willingness to obtain) Reliable availability for evening and weekend shifts (Tue-Sat) We value team players who are detail-oriented, take pride in their craft, and are eager to grow with an excellent kitchen team Our restaurant is searching for a skilled and passionate live fire, kiln dried hardwood and charcoal grill chef to join our high-volume restaurant team. As our grill lead, your primary role will be to manage the grill station, expedite food and produce exceptional cuisine on our custom built wood fired grill. This will include braising and grilling meat, vegetables, and other well crafted grilled foods. The grill cook will assist the kitchen staff with the ingredient preparation process, including slicing, cutting, and tenderizing meat, vegetables, and other ingredients. The grill cook is also responsible for communicating when orders are ready to waitstaff and assisting management with the inventory process. The ideal candidate will possess leadership qualities, expert communication skills, team work capabilities and extensive knowledge of grilling techniques. Our establishment is open Tuesday thru Saturday for dinner only. Sunday and Monday off weekly.
Grill Cook Key Responsibilities:
Braise and grill a variety of foods, including steaks, chops, poultry, vegetables and signature dishes with a high degree of skill and care Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation and taste by monitoring food temperatures, freshness and portion control Manage the grill station with efficiency and quality, while working in a team environment Prepare meat and vegetables by slicing, cutting, shredding, and tenderizing Collaborate and communicate with the head chef, line cooks, food runners and wait staff to ensure the timely delivery of all meals Follow and comply by all food, health, safety, sanitation and restaurant guidelines for food preparation and workstation cleanliness and maintain Food and Safety licensures Assist in maintaining inventory by tracking, labeling, and replacing key ingredients Communicate with the restaurant manager about any kitchen supplies and upgrades that are needed Grill Cook Requirements:
High school diploma or GED, College Diploma in Culinary Arts is a plus Previous restaurant experience, preferably as a cook Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen Strong communication skills Availability to work evening and weekend shifts Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Knowledge of and willingness to embrace important food health and safety guidelines Willingness to work in a team environment, learn from exceptional staff and improve your craft Pay:
