Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Chef Instructor to join our culinary education team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary expertise, work well with children and have a passion for teaching them, excellent teaching skills, and a dedication to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves leading cooking classes, developing curriculum, and mentoring aspiring chefs in a dynamic and supportive setting. The Lead Chef Instructor will play a vital role in inspiring students while demonstrating advanced culinary techniques and industry best practices. Duties Lead engaging cooking classes focused on various culinary skills including cake decorating, baking, food preparation, and food handling. Develop and update lesson plans that incorporate food industry standards, sanitation protocols, and hospitality principles. Demonstrate proper knife skills, food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures to students. Provide hands-on instruction in food service management, restaurant experience, and culinary techniques tailored for adult learners. Mentor students on culinary careers, emphasizing food industry standards and hospitality excellence. Oversee kitchen operations during classes to ensure proper sanitation and adherence to health regulations. Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development. Collaborate with team members to improve curriculum content and instructional methods. Requirements Proven culinary experience with expertise in cooking, baking, cake decorating, and food handling. Strong background in food service management, restaurant experience, or hospitality industries. Excellent knife skills and knowledge of sanitation standards within professional kitchens. Prior teaching or training experience, especially in adult education or culinary instruction. Ability to demonstrate leadership in a classroom setting while fostering an engaging learning environment. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to instruct diverse groups of adult learners effectively. Knowledge of food industry trends, food safety regulations, and kitchen best practices. Culinary credentials or certifications are preferred but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates.
