Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry. Develop creative menu items that highlight fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all food handling and preparation processes. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service during busy hours, supporting overall restaurant operations. Manage ingredient inventory, ensure proper storage, and minimize waste through efficient food preparation practices. Demonstrate expert knife skills for slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients with accuracy and finesse. Engage with guests when appropriate, explaining menu items and ensuring an exceptional dining experience. Skills Extensive experience in sushi preparation, including traditional techniques and modern innovations. Strong background in dietary department experience and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating diverse dietary needs. Proven ability in menu planning, food presentation, and culinary innovation within fine dining settings. Solid foundation in food preparation, cooking methods, and food handling safety standards. Previous restaurant experience with a focus on food service excellence in the food industry or catering environments. Excellent knife skills combined with proficiency in meal preparation and food safety protocols. Knowledge of kitchen operations, food industry standards, and catering services to ensure high-quality output.
