About UsButtercream Cakes is a St. Paul bakery specializing in mini desserts delicate tarts, chocolate cups, dessert shooters, and other bite-size confections that steal the show at weddings, events, dessert tables, and corporate gatherings. Small-format desserts are our craft, and every piece that leaves our kitchen is made to look as beautiful as it tastes. We're looking for a pastry chef who loves precision work and takes pride in turning out flawless little desserts, batch after batch.

The RoleAs our pastry chef, you'll produce our full range of mini desserts from the ground up baking and preparing components, then assembling and finishing each piece with consistency and care. This is detail-driven, high-volume work for someone who finds satisfaction in getting every tart shell, chocolate cup, and shooter just right.

What You'll DoBake and prepare mini-dessert components: tart shells, mousses, curds, ganaches, creams, and spongesAssemble and finish tarts, chocolate cups, dessert shooters, and other small-format dessertsTemper chocolate and produce chocolate cups and decorative elementsPipe, layer, and garnish desserts with uniform size, portion, and appearance across large batchesHit production targets for event orders and dessert-table quantitiesManage your daily schedule to meet pickup, delivery, and event deadlinesMaintain a clean, organized, food-safe workspaceCollaborate with the team on new mini-dessert designs and seasonal offeringsWhat We're Looking ForProfessional pastry experience; mini desserts, plated desserts, or chocolate work strongly preferredA sharp eye for consistency and detail every piece in a batch should matchComfort working at volume without sacrificing qualitySkills in chocolate tempering, tart work, and mousses/fillings are a big plusStrong time management in a deadline-driven shopReliable, team-oriented, and open to creative feedbackFood safety knowledge (ServSafe a plus)Weekend availability as needed for our busy event seasonsA culinary or baking & pastry certificate/degree is a plus but not required skill and reliability matter most.
