The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards of excellence. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that each dish is prepared with precision and creativity while maintaining the highest levels of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, poke bowls, and rolls, using fresh ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and preparation. Provide exceptional customer service by accommodating special requests. Experience Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making. Familiarity with fine dining standards and practices is a plus. Experience working in kitchen environments, including catering or dietary departments, is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality in food presentation.
