Job Description

Experienced, Sous Chef needed in Washington, MO. Candidate must be able to perform well under pressure in a fast pace, small kitchen setting. Prefer someone with at least 2 years experience in a professional kitchen setting managing line cooks and other kitchen staff. Oversees daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service in a fast-paced environment. Supervises and works alongside line cooks and kitchen staff while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Assists with menu preparation, recipe execution, portion control, and plating to ensure an exceptional dining experience for members and guests. Maintains proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with health department regulations. Helps manage inventory, food ordering, stock rotation, and waste control to support kitchen efficiency and cost management. Assists the Executive Chef with staff training, scheduling, and maintaining a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture. Ensures all kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas are clean, organized, and operating properly. Steps into leadership roles during service as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent service standards. Should be well rounded in short order line cooking, food preparation, small private catering events and banquets.
