Job Description

Executive Chef & Culinary Program Director Petty Creek Mountain Ranch | Alberton, Montana Petty Creek Mountain Ranch is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial chef to lead and grow our culinary program at a private executive retreat and leadership development ranch in the mountains of Western Montana. Nestled on a working cattle ranch just outside Missoula, our property hosts leadership teams, executives, ministries, and organizations seeking meaningful experiences, exceptional hospitality, and authentic connection. Food plays a central role in that experience. We're looking for someone who is excited not only to cook exceptional meals, but to help shape the future of a growing culinary program rooted in Montana's agricultural heritage and farm-to-table philosophy. What You'll Do Lead all culinary operations for retreat guests Design seasonal menus highlighting Montana ranching, agriculture, and local ingredients Source products and build relationships with local farmers, ranchers, producers, and purveyors Prepare and execute meals for groups typically ranging from 10-20 guests Manage food procurement, inventory, ordering, and kitchen organization Collaborate with leadership to create memorable culinary experiences for retreats and special events Help develop and expand the ranch's long-term culinary vision Provide input on future kitchen expansion and culinary facility development Maintain high standards of hospitality, presentation, cleanliness, and food safety Who We're Looking For Professional chef with experience in hospitality, retreats, resorts, lodges, ranches, or private dining Passion for farm-to-table cuisine and local sourcing Self-starter who enjoys building systems and creating new experiences Comfortable working independently and leading culinary operations Strong organizational and communication skills Appreciation for hospitality, relationship-building, and guest experience Excited about Montana's outdoor lifestyle and ranch culture What Makes This Opportunity Different This is more than a chef position.
