Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep Chef, where your passion for food and dedication to quality will help set the foundation for exceptional dining experiences. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring all food handling and safety standards are met. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure smooth kitchen operations Assist in menu planning and ingredient sourcing to support creative and efficient meal preparation Execute food preparation tasks with precision, including cooking, plating, and portioning dishes according to established recipes and standards Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene by adhering to proper food handling procedures at all times Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of menu items with accuracy and speed Organize kitchen stations for optimal workflow, ensuring all tools and ingredients are ready for use Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of quality meals while maintaining a positive team environment Experience Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food service standards Hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings—culinary experience is preferred Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety regulations is essential Skilled in knife handling, food presentation, and portion control techniques Experience working in the food industry or catering environments will be advantageous Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food handling procedures, and serving protocols Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their culinary skills in a lively kitchen setting.
