Job Description
Job Overview Diamond Creek is an ultra-exclusive golf club privately owned, operating May 13 through October 18, 2026. A Member of Golf Digest's Top 100 Golf Courses, located in Banner Elk, North Carolina, the Tom Fazio designed championship layout is celebrated for its pristine conditions, strategic design and timeless mountain beauty. With 325 individual members and approximately 8,000 rounds of golf each season, we offer a boutique, high-end club experience. Open 6 days a week, Diamond Creek delivers exceptional fine dining throughout the day and maintains the highest standards in every amenity. We are seeking friendly, professional, and detail-oriented individuals for culinary positions who are passionate about excellence in service and hospitality. The Assistant Pastry Chef will support the Pastry Chef in day-to-day pastry operations. Responsibilities include assisting in pastry production according to recipes, ensuring quality, and managing production in the absence of the Pastry Chef. The ideal candidate will be dedicated and skilled in pastry making. Full time; 40 hours a week. Weekend, holiday and some night availability is required. Responsibilities
- Assist pastry chef in day-to-day operation and be the point of contact in their absence
- Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods (desserts, sweet/savory pastries, breads) for multiple locations according to club venue logistics and plating requirements
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, such as mixers, ovens, and pastry tools
- Support in recipe creation
- Work in a team environment with a high degree of professionalism while handling multiple priorities to produce efficient service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace, ensuring kitchen equipment is clean and operational
- Support in ensuring timely preparation and service of all desserts
- Keep food cost management in mind by tracking ingredient usage
- Adhere to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
- Skilled in using commercial ovens with a deep understanding of temperature needs for different baked items
- Demonstrated ability to work fast and efficiently without compromising on the quality of preparation and product
- Forward-thinking approach, constantly anticipating needs and staying one step ahead in all preparations
- Solid grasp of professional cooking techniques and baking methods and procedures
- Proactive, driven, and motivated with a strong sense of urgency to deliver results
- Positive demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of integrity, consistently maintaining accountability in all that you do
