Chef de Cuisine FL Hospitality Services Durham, NC Job Details Full-time $45,000 - $60,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Sushi Asian cuisine Teamwork Guest relations Team development Full Job Description Job Summary FL Hospitality Services is assisting Tasu Noodle Bar in the search for a hands-on Chef / Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations at a small, fast-paced restaurant. This is a great opportunity for a chef who wants to take ownership of a restaurant, lead the back-of-house team, supervise a small front-of-house team, and help improve consistency, organization, and overall performance. The Chef / Restaurant Manager will oversee the back-of-house operations while also supervising two front-of-house cashiers. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable leading from the kitchen, maintaining food quality and consistency, and making sure the restaurant runs smoothly from open to close. The position offers a base salary with performance-based bonus opportunities tied to operational improvements, food quality, cost control, team accountability, guest satisfaction, and overall restaurant results. Duties Oversee all daily back-of-house operations Lead prep, cooking, plating, and service execution Maintain food quality, consistency, portion control, and presentation Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff Supervise two front-of-house cashiers and ensure professional guest service Keep the kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and efficient Manage prep lists, ordering needs, inventory, storage, labeling, and product rotation Monitor food cost, waste, and product usage Help control labor, scheduling needs, and daily productivity Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health department standards are followed Communicate clearly with ownership, staff, and FL Hospitality Services Handle daily issues quickly and professionally Help build a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture Step in wherever needed to support the team and keep service running smoothly Experience Previous chef, sous chef, kitchen manager, or restaurant manager experience preferred Hands-on cooking experience required Experience with noodles, Asian cuisine, wok cooking, sushi, or fast-casual dining is a plus Ability to lead a small team with consistency and professionalism Strong organizational and communication skills Comfortable supervising both kitchen staff and front-of-house cashiers Reliable, punctual, and able to take ownership of daily operations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required What We Offer Base salary with performance-based bonus opportunities Leadership role in a small, established restaurant Opportunity to take ownership of daily operations Support from FL Hospitality Services during the hiring and onboarding process Room for growth based on performance A team-oriented work environment How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your kitchen and leadership experience.
