Forest Oaks Country Club Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dependable Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will assist the Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring high-quality food preparation for member dining, banquets, golf tournaments, private events, and club functions. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Chef with daily kitchen operations and food production Prepare and oversee food preparation for restaurant service, member dining, banquets, and special events Ensure quality, consistency, presentation, and portion control standards are maintained Assist with menu planning, daily features, and seasonal specials Supervise and support kitchen staff during service periods Train and mentor line cooks and kitchen team members Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory management Monitor food costs and help minimize waste Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health department regulations and food safety standards Maintain safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures Assist with scheduling and staffing needs as directed Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent member and guest experiences Assist with setup and execution of tournaments, weddings, and private events Perform additional duties as assignedQualifications:
Previous culinary experience required; Sous Chef experience preferred Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety practices Ability to lead a team and maintain a positive work environment Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds ServSafe certification preferred (or ability to obtain)Benefits May Include:
