We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, with expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and food safety. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes in a fine dining environment, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Candidates with experience in the food industry, culinary arts, and restaurant settings are encouraged to apply. The Sushi Chef will play a vital role in menu planning, food presentation, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Duties Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards Handle all aspects of food preparation, including cutting, slicing, and assembling ingredients with precision Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures Assist in menu planning and development to introduce innovative sushi options Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders in a fast-paced environment Uphold high standards of quality, taste, and presentation for all sushi offerings Participate in catering events or special functions as needed Experience Prior experience in fine dining establishments or restaurants specializing in Japanese cuisine is highly preferred Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, including food preparation, cooking, and food service Proven expertise in sushi making, including knife skills and meal preparation techniques Experience with food safety protocols and proper food handling practices Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving in a restaurant setting is advantageous Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail This position offers an opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry within a professional environment dedicated to excellence.
