Production Chef - NH Food Bank New Hampshire Catholic Charities Inc - 3.6 Manchester, NH Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Kitchen knives High school diploma or GED Food preparation equipment operation Full Job Description The New Hampshire Food Bank is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team (40 hours/week) as a Production Chef with the Recipe for Success Program (RFS). The Production Chef is primarily responsible for agency meal production including the daily oversight/coordination of volunteers, production planning and execution, record keeping, commercial kitchen cleaning and sanitation. The position supports other aspects of the Culinary Program and New Hampshire Food Bank (NHFB) including catering, food trailer events, fundraising activities, etc. We offer a great work environment with generous benefits, including health, dental, vision, 401K and life insurance along with other fringe benefits.
Duties:
Plan and execute the production of partner agency meals in collaboration with the Culinary Manager. Monitor volunteer sign up. Plan and guide volunteer opportunities within the kitchen related to bulk meal production and cleaning. Ensure volunteers uphold sanitation standards. Collaborate with Chef Instructor to create opportunities for CJT students related to bulk meal production and cleaning. Provide support and guidance to students as needed. Assist in ensuring that equipment safety procedures, sanitation requirements, and safe knife handling is enforced with and followed by volunteers and students. Communicate ingredient, supply, and equipment needs to Culinary Manager for ordering. Ensure bulk meal production ingredients are properly stored, labeled and utilized before spoiling. Continuously aiming to decrease food waste and work with limited resources at times. Assist with fundraising events, outreach activities, catering and food trailer events as directed by the Culinary Manager. Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED required 3 to 5 years of experience in food preparation/cooking in a commercial kitchen environment, preferred ServSafe Manager's Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Ability to complete Forklift Driver's Training within 12 months of hire.
