Lead Line Cook / Sous Chef -
Home Team Tavern Location:
Mt. Ephraim, NJ Start Date of Position June 9, 2026 Grand Opening June 25, 2026 Home Team Tavern is seeking an experienced, motivated Lead Line Cook / Sous Chef to help build and lead our kitchen team. This is a unique opportunity to join a brand-new sports bar/restaurant before opening and play a key role in developing kitchen systems, refining recipes, building the menu, and training the team.
Required Station Experience:
Candidates should have experience in most or all of the following stations: Pizza Crepe Fry Grill Sauté Sushi experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
Assist with opening and kitchen setup Help develop and execute a new menu Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff Lead kitchen operations during service Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards Assist with inventory, ordering, and food cost control Maintain sanitation and food safety standards Coordinate ticket flow and kitchen communication Work all stations as needed and lead by example
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of high-volume kitchen experience Previous Lead Line Cook or Sous Chef experience preferred Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership skills Reliable transportation and strong attendance record Available nights, weekends Advancement opportunities Why Join Us?
