Job Description
Oak & Vine is looking for a talented, ambitious chef ready to take the next step in their career. This position is ideal for a strong Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager who is ready to grow into a true leadership role while remaining heavily involved in the day-to-day kitchen operation. We are not looking for a "clipboard chef." We want someone who loves cooking, thrives during service, leads from the line, and wants to help build something special. Oak & Vine is an evolving upscale casual restaurant with a focus on elevated American cuisine, seafood, steaks, brunch, cocktails, private events, and seasonal creativity. We are actively improving and growing — and this role offers real opportunity for advancement and influence. What You'll Do Work side-by-side with ownership and kitchen leadership Lead services from expo and the line Help train and develop kitchen staff Maintain consistency, quality, and organization Assist with menu development and seasonal specials Help manage prep systems, inventory, ordering, and food cost Support execution for busy brunches, dinner services, and private events Bring energy, ideas, and leadership to the kitchen every day What We're Looking For 3+ years in a Sous Chef or kitchen leadership role Strong line cooking and expo skills Calm under pressure and able to lead a team during busy service Passion for food, hospitality, and growth Organized, reliable, and motivated Someone who wants to grow with a restaurant, not just collect a paycheck Ideal Background Experience in: Upscale casual restaurants Seafood or steakhouse kitchens Mediterranean or modern American cuisine High-volume brunch service Scratch cooking and specials development Why This Role Is Different This is a real opportunity to: Have creative input Grow into a top leadership position Build systems and culture Work directly with ownership Be part of a restaurant entering its next phase We're building a kitchen team that cares about hospitality, consistency, creativity, and pride in execution.
