This energetic leader will oversee all aspects of sushi preparation, kitchen operations, and team management within a fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for authentic sushi artistry, extensive culinary experience, and proven leadership abilities to inspire excellence and elevate our restaurant's reputation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary experience and ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. We are located in Colorado so you must be open to relocation! Red Lotus Den, Westminster, CO 80031 Duties Lead the creation and execution of innovative sushi menus that highlight fresh ingredients and authentic techniques. Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food cost efficiency. Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Train and mentor kitchen staff on sushi techniques, food handling, and customer service standards to foster a high-performance team. Coordinate with the restaurant management team to plan catering events, banquets, and special dining experiences involving sushi offerings. Monitor shift management, ensuring smooth workflow during busy periods while maintaining exceptional service standards. Implement inventory management systems for ingredients specific to sushi production and overall kitchen supplies. Collaborate on menu planning that balances creativity with operational feasibility and customer preferences. Ensure all food production aligns with dietary requirements and allergy considerations for diverse guest needs. Experience Extensive culinary experience with a focus on sushi preparation in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings. Proven supervising experience leading kitchen teams in high-volume environments. Strong background in banquet service, catering, or large-scale food production is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in inventory control, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices. Experience managing diverse teams within the food industry while fostering a positive work environment. Knowledge of dietary accommodations, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options, and allergy-sensitive dishes. Familiarity with restaurant management systems related to food service operations is preferred.
