Job Description

The Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles NY is looking for an Executive Chef. This is a excellent opportunity for a creative culinary professional ready to take the next step, come be a part of the growing excitement and the diverse culinary experience of the Finger Lakes. The ideal candidate will bring leadership organization and passion for high quality food in a fast paced, high volume environment to continue the Sherwood inns' tradition of outstanding guest experience in the restaurant and onsite and off site Catering. The Executive Chef Provides leadership and management of all culinary activities in the kitchen with in our policies, procedures, and cultural standards. As a working chef, they are responsible for the planning and execution of the daily operations, including cooking, staffing, production, quality control, cost control, safety, and sanitation. The Executive Chef is also responsible for working with the Director of Operations and General Manager on long term kitchen planning projects including menu costing, menu planning, etc. to meet the organizational goals set.
The Requirements:
Technical Culinary Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or two years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in high volume restaurant or 1 + Years of experience as an Executive Chef Banquet experience Understands how to read a P&L A strong understanding of Food and Beverage preparation techniques and NYS health department rules and regulations
