Opening this fall in Blue Ash, D'Oro will be a high-volume, upscale Argentine-Italian restaurant featuring morning coffee and pastry service, lunch, dinner, patio dining, and a polished beverage program. We are currently hiring two Sous Chefs to help build our culinary team from the ground up: AM Sous Chef PM Sous Chef Both positions will begin training immediately at Alfio's and Noche before transitioning into D'Oro as we prepare for opening. As part of opening preparation, Sous Chefs will also have the opportunity to train alongside our team during the ATP Cincinnati Open, gaining valuable experience executing high-volume service in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This is an opportunity to be part of the beginning and help shape the systems, culture, and standards that will define D'Oro from day one. Position Overview The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, maintaining food quality and consistency, developing team members, and ensuring strong execution throughout service. This role requires someone who can balance urgency with organization, maintain high standards, communicate effectively, and lead by example. The ideal candidate is coachable, accountable, adaptable, and excited to help build a restaurant before the doors open. Responsibilities Support daily kitchen operations and service execution Lead and coach line cooks, prep cooks, and support staff Maintain recipe adherence, food quality, consistency, and presentation standards Assist with training and development of new team members Help build prep systems, station organization, and opening procedures Monitor cleanliness, food safety, and Board of Health compliance Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and product organization Communicate effectively with FOH and BOH leadership Support opening and closing responsibilities Help create a culture built on professionalism, accountability, urgency, and hospitality Identify problems early and communicate solutions Maintain calm execution during busy services AM Sous Chef Responsibilities The AM Sous Chef will help oversee: Morning prep production Coffee and pastry support operations Lunch service readiness Daily prep execution Product organization and storage Line readiness and station setup Daytime kitchen leadership This role requires strong organizational skills, prep management, and the ability to set the kitchen up for success before peak service begins. PM Sous Chef Responsibilities The PM Sous Chef will help oversee: Dinner service execution Line management during peak volume Service communication and pacing Food quality and presentation standards Closing procedures Nightly cleanliness and kitchen reset Team accountability during service This role requires strong leadership presence, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain standards under pressure. Qualifications Previous Sous Chef, Lead Line Cook, Kitchen Manager, or culinary leadership experience preferred Experience in high-volume restaurant environments Strong understanding of kitchen organization and food safety Ability to lead and motivate a team Strong communication and problem-solving skills Reliable, organized, and accountable Comfortable receiving and giving feedback Opening experience is a plus but not required Experience with Italian, Argentine, or scratch-kitchen cooking is preferred Culinary degree is not required; performance and leadership matter most What Success Looks Like At D'Oro, success means helping create a kitchen that can deliver excellence consistently.
