Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to health regulations at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service flow efficiently. Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to enhance menu offerings. Monitor inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other ingredients; place orders as needed. Educate team members on sushi techniques and uphold best practices in food preparation. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine. Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling. Experience working in fast-paced restaurant environments with high standards for quality. Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Background in culinary arts or related training preferred; certifications in food handling are a plus. Passion for innovation in cuisine, with an eye for detail and presentation excellence.
