Sous Chef The Normandy Senior Living Rocky River, OH Job Details Full-time From $19 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Culinary experience Cooking Time management Full Job Description Sous Chef Job description The sous chef will be able to prepare food to the chef's exact specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction, and acquisition goals. Responsibilities Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Complete all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the head chef or other kitchen manager. Labeling and stocking all ingredients Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats. Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients. Strong sense of smell and taste Prepare food for service (ex: chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces). Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Skills Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook Ability to work in a fast paced environment Great collaboration and teamwork skills Effective communication skills Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Organizational, time management and multitasking skills Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry's best practices Culinary experience
