• On-Site The Opportunity Oklahoma City's most elevated private event venue — perched on the 20th floor of the historic Founders Tower with 360° panoramic skyline views — is building its culinary program from the ground up.

We're looking for a chef who doesn't just cook. Someone who crafts experiences. This role starts part-time, anchored to our weekly Wednesday happy hours and private events. As Slate grows, so does this role — with a clear path to full-time and full ownership of the culinary vision. About Slate Slate at Founders Tower is a luxury private event venue on the 20th floor of a National Historic Landmark built in 1964. We host weddings, corporate events, galas, and private celebrations for up to 240 guests. Our brand is defined by understated luxury, intentional hospitality, and a guest experience that never feels transactional. What You'll Do Weekly Wednesday Happy Hours Design and execute rotating menus of upscale light bites and small plates Coordinate timing and presentation with the front-of-house team Adapt menus to seasonality, trends, and guest feedback Private Events — Weddings, Corporate, Galas Collaborate with clients and our Director of Client Experience to design custom menus Execute cocktail hour bites, grazing stations, and plated dinners Manage sourcing, prep, kitchen logistics, and breakdown Culinary Program Leadership Build and own Slate's culinary identity — signature dishes, seasonal menus, catering packages Establish food cost controls and operational systems as the program scales Source and manage vendor relationships Hire and lead kitchen staff as volume grows What We're Looking For Must-Have 5+ years professional culinary experience — fine dining, upscale events, or private chef background Proven ability to execute high-quality food in a non-restaurant environment Menu development across multiple cuisines and formats ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification Strong communicator — you'll work directly with clients and the events team Strong Plus Upscale catering or private club background Experience building a culinary program from scratch OKC-area vendor and purveyor network Cocktail and food pairing experience Compensation & Schedule Compensation is competitive and discussed based on experience and scope. Schedule:

Wednesday evenings + event dates (primarily Fridays and Saturdays). Starts part-time with a clear path to full-time as our calendar builds.
