Managing Sous ChefNewberg, ORPay:
$58,864 - $70,720 annual salary
Shifts:
40 hrs./week. Weekends Required.

Summary:
Friendsview, a continuing care retirement community in Newberg, OR, is seeking a dedicated Managing Sous Chefto lead culinary operations in one of our community kitchens. This role serves as the primary chef for designated dining areas, overseeing daily food production, menu execution, and kitchen staff all while ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, beautifully prepared meals in a warm, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high culinary and service standards.

Lead food preparation and production using fresh, from-scratch methods aligned with menu plans and resident dietary needs.

Plan and execute menus for daily dining and special catered events.

Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

Collaborate with department leadership and HR on staffing, scheduling, and staff development.
Qualifications:
Current ServSafe certificate or Oregon Food Handlers CardMinimum of 7 years as a production cook, or 4 years experience and a culinary education Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role Proven experience in a leadership role within a professional kitchen, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.

Strong culinary and organizational skills with attention to detail and presentation.

Excellent communication and team-building abilities.

Passion for providing residents with high-quality, flavorful, and health-conscious meals.

Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and be legally allowed to work in the United States.
