LEAD CHEF/DIETARY SUPERVISOR
ANNUAL
SALARY APPROPRIATE TO EXPERIENCE
Are you a well-organized supervisor who loves to cook? If you enjoy both being a chef and running a kitchen, then we may have a position you'd enjoy. Our faith based Assisted Living facility is seeking an experienced Lead Chef/Dietary Supervisor for our Portland senior residential care community. A Dietary Supervisor/Chef is a valuable member of Assumption Village's community. You would plan menus, order supplies, and manage personnel. As our Lead Chef you would showcase your culinary skills through the regular preparation of certain meals. To be successful, a candidate will have proven culinary skills and management experience as well as organizational abilities. Bilingual Spanish/English speaker preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • "Hands on" chef who participates in menu development, production, meal service, and clean up
  • Supervises dietary employees, including hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluating
  • Maintains inventory, ordering supplies, and managing relationships with vendors
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
REQUIREMENTS
  • A passion for cooking
  • A culinary degree or 3 years' experience in supervisory role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Food Handler's certified/ServSafe certified preferred
  • Organization and clear communication skills
