Job Description

Sous Chef - Gully Kitchen BethlehemJob Summary Gully Kitchen Bethlehem is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the Sous Chef, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting kitchen operations, maintaining food quality standards, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will work closely with the Head Chef and management team to oversee food preparation, supervise kitchen staff, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to menu execution. Duties Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and staff performance. Supervise food preparation and cooking activities to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards. Train, mentor, and support kitchen team members in proper cooking techniques, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize food waste. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food sanitation regulations. Coordinate food production during service to maintain efficient ticket times and guest satisfaction. Assist in menu development, recipe standardization, and portion control. Conduct quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Step into leadership responsibilities and manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef. Requirements Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, Kitchen Supervisor, or similar leadership role in a restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and culinary best practices. Understanding of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and inventory management. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop kitchen staff. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Culinary degree or professional culinary training is preferred but not required. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Why Join Gully Kitchen Bethlehem?
