Rivers Casino Pittsburgh Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and providing exceptional guest experiences. Responsibilities:
Directly supervise kitchen team members during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to company guidelines. Uphold the highest standard of quality in all aspects of food preparation. Monitor and manage food inventory, ensuring proper rotation and maintaining appropriate levels. Coordinate and conduct comprehensive training for kitchen team members to ensure proficient performance of all duties. Assist the Room Chef in overseeing departmental operations and provide personnel recommendations as needed. Ensure thorough knowledge of kitchen inventory and proactively monitor supplies and food items for quality and quantity. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times. Address guest complaints or issues promptly and courteously. Prioritize safety and accident prevention, promptly reporting any incidents and completing necessary documentation. Adhere to all departmental rules, policies, and procedures, setting high standards for the team. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English for effective interaction with guests and team members. Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments. Previous relevant experience and a proven track record of sound judgment. Cooperative, helpful, and friendly nature with a well-groomed appearance. Ability to complete and maintain "Serv-Safe" (Food Sanitation Management) certification within 120 days of employment. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and procedures. Ability to complete Responsible Alcohol Management Program training. Proficiency in understanding and communicating Material Data Safety Sheets to team members. Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process and work flexible shifts, including holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking in the kitchen. Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
