Our focus is on elevated food, thoughtful design, and exceptional execution.
As the company grows, we are building the operational systems and culinary team needed to support $1M+ in annual catering revenue.
The RoleWe are seeking a Catering & Production Sous Chef to lead the culinary production engine of the business.
This role is responsible for translating menus into organized prep systems, managingkitchen production for events, and ensuring that every event is executed with precision.
The Catering & Production Production Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef and Operations team to ensure events run smoothly from prep through execution.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a chef who enjoys both culinary work and operational organization.
ResponsibilitiesCulinary ProductionBuild detailed prep lists from event menusOrganize and execute kitchen production schedulesOversee all food preparation for eventsEnsure consistency, quality, and portioningEvent ExecutionLead kitchen production during all eventsCoordinate with service team and banquet captainEnsure all items are packed, labeled, and event-readyAssist with plating and event culinary executionKitchen ManagementSupervise prep cooks and kitchen assistantsManage ingredient ordering and inventoryMaintain kitchen organization and sanitation standardsAssist with recipe documentation and production systemsMaintain sanitized and organized workstations at all times.
Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment to ensure longevity and optimal performance.100% compliance with SafeStaff Food Handling protocols, health codes, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications3 7 years professional kitchen experienceCatering or event-based culinary experience required, with ability to support both production and on-site execution in high-volume or multi-event environmentsStrong organization and production skillsAbility to lead small teamsComfortable executing multiple events weeklyWorks well in both kitchen and on-site environmentsDetail-oriented with pride in presentationCalm, solutions-focused under pressurePositive, team and client-first attitudeBilingual (Spanish) a plusSchedule & Work EnvironmentUnlike traditional restaurants, catering production operates on a hybrid schedule.
Typical schedule includes:
weekday prep and production daysevent days (often evenings or weekends)variable schedule depending on event calendarThe environment is fast-paced but more structured than a restaurant kitchen.CompensationSalary range: $55,000 $65,000At this stage the company does not yet offer benefits or a 401k, however we are actively working toward implementing benefits as the business scales.
