CHEF APPRENTICE
Shark Bowls & Bites & Bowls & Bites at The Alley Do you love food? Want to learn from experienced chefs and business owners? Ready to build a career, not just work a job? If so, this opportunity may be exactly what you're looking for. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Chef Apprentice to join our growing team at Shark Bowls & Bites and Bowls & Bites at The Alley. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside Chef Lacey, former owner of Lacey's Take-A-Way, and Corporate Chef Monique Wallace, former owner of Moveable Feast Co. Together, we will teach you the skills needed to succeed in both culinary operations and restaurant management. This position is designed for someone who is eager to learn, works hard, takes initiative, and wants hands-on experience in all aspects of the food service industry.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
As a Chef Apprentice, you'll gain real-world experience in: Food preparation and cooking techniques Smoothie, bowl, waffle, and specialty menu production Recipe execution and consistency Food safety and sanitation standards Kitchen organization and efficiency Inventory management and ordering Catering and event execution Customer service and hospitality Team leadership and restaurant operations Menu development and food costing This apprenticeship is designed to teach you how a successful food business operates—from the kitchen to the front counter and everything in between.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist chefs with food preparation and cooking Prepare menu items according to company standards Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment Receive and properly store deliveries Assist with inventory counts and product rotation Support catering and special events Work both front-of-house and back-of-house as needed Learn and follow all recipes, systems, and procedures Deliver exceptional customer service Be willing to jump in wherever needed
REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old Reliable transportation required Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Strong communication skills Passion for food and willingness to learn Culinary school experience is welcome but not required
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Full-time position Five days per week Position begins July 15, 2026 Some weekends and special events may be required Starting pay: $18 per hour Growth opportunities within months available for the right candidate
