The ideal candidate will have experience preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese-inspired cuisine while maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, presentation, and consistency. This position requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and other menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards. Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, quality, and attention to detail. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift. Properly handle, store, and rotate seafood, produce, and other ingredients in compliance with food safety standards. Assist with daily prep work, including cutting fish, preparing sauces, portioning ingredients, and stocking stations. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving products as needed. Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely execution of orders. Maintain composure and efficiency during high-volume service periods. Follow all company policies, health department regulations, and safety procedures. Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Qualifications & Requirements Previous sushi chef experience required. Strong knife skills and knowledge of fish preparation techniques. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food quality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
