Casa Lago Italian Kitchen is located in the heart of Six Mile, SC, just minutes from Lake Keowee. With 100 seats and a lively, welcoming atmosphere, Casa Lago is more than just a restaurant—it's a place where great food, good vibes, and amazing people come together. Job Summary:
As the executive chef, you will be responsible for building and updating the menu, overseeing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and consistency, handling inventory and budgeting food costs, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and overseeing food preparation. You will play a key role in creating an efficient, organized, and positive work environment while upholding our high standards for food and service.Key Responsibilities:
- In cooperation with the Sous Chef and other kitchen staff, you will manage kitchen operations, ensuring high food quality and consistency.
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Build and update the menu with fresh, seasonal Italian dishes
- Lead and support your kitchen team day-to-day
- Keep food quality and consistency high across every service
- Work closely with ownership and front-of-house to keep things running smoothly
- Manage food and labor costs without cutting corners on quality
- Manage inventory, food orders, and kitchen supplies while minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with management to develop new menu items and improve kitchen efficiency.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and teamwork mentality.
Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years experience in an executive chef position, SPECIFICALLY in an Italian restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Possess your Serve Safe certification or be willing to maintain one.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with inventory management and food cost control.
- Leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage staff effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Passion for food, quality, and creating a great customer experience.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
