Chef Premier Resort Assistant Living and Memory Care Abilene, TX Job Details Full-time $15 - $17 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Food provided Qualifications Kitchen health and safety standards Pre-cooking preparation Food preparation for special diets Food service health code compliance Customer service Food safety sanitizing procedures Time management Full Job Description Position Summary The Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining compliance with state regulations, food safety standards, and Premier Resort policies. This position plays a vital role in resident satisfaction and quality of life. Responsibilities Prepare and serve daily meals, snacks, and desserts according to menu plans. Create monthly menus that meet resident preferences and nutritional needs. Accommodate physician-ordered diets, texture modifications, and food allergies. Order food and kitchen supplies while maintaining budget awareness. Monitor food inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels. Ensure proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation procedures. Maintain kitchen sanitation and comply with food safety regulations. Complete required temperature logs for refrigerators, freezers, and food service equipment. Prepare weekend meal instructions and food prep for caregiving staff. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area. Work closely with residents and families to promote positive dining experiences. Participate in special events, holiday meals, and community celebrations. Assist with survey readiness and compliance activities. Qualifications Previous cooking experience required; senior living, healthcare, or restaurant experience preferred. Food Handler Certificate (or ability to obtain upon hire). Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to prepare meals for multiple dietary needs. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations. Reliable attendance and positive attitude. Must successfully pass required background screening.
